we should be best friends

I started writing this post a month ago, but life is super busy these days and I never got around to finishing it until now. I have to say it for the world to hear though, Jennifer Lawrence is my latest girl crush. Yes, I get girl crushes, quit judging. Seriously though, how cute is she!?! Not just looks wise (though she is hottie), but her personality. Every interview I see of her makes me love her more and more, and how cute was she at the Oscars falling down!?! I'm pretty certain that if we ever met we would be instant best friends...either that or she would get a restraining order on me.

Seriously don't you just want to eat her up! She's such a dollface! Well that's all I have to say about that.

lately

Sometimes life gets in the way and weirdness happens...

Earlier this week I had to go to my doc cause I was having a hard time breathing. According to the doc I have the "cousin to asthma", which means my lungs had air trapped in them. How in the heck does that happen?!?  I couldn't breath deep for 2 days, which in turn made me very light headed. Also, apparently it's hard to eat when you can't breath, not a big help with the light headiness, but worked great for weight loss! Win, win!! They gave me a breathing treatment (which helped) and this inhaler in case it happens again....now I'm officially a nerd.
I may look slightly stoned because the inhaler has crack in it...or so it feels like.

On the upside I made crafts! I'm so excited for Fall!!
I glittered the pears the last craft night with the girls, so this time I chromed some apples.
I also made this fall wreath and had to hang it up! If school has started then it must be officially Fall right?!? The weather will start to cooperate soon I'm sure.

guilty obsession

For the record I like to be with my husband ALL the time.
He really is the cutest!
But I kinda love when he does stuff with the boys and I get the TV to myself to watch my guilty pleasure shows that he won't watch with me.
Shows such as:

Ghost Whisperer. This show scares me and makes me cry....every. single. time.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Seriously how did I not watch this show when it was first on?!? Angel in all his brooding sexiness, hello!! I just finished the first season and the way they talk and dress crack me up a bit.

Jem and the Holograms. Just classic! I'm on the search for their music tape. I had one growing up and I'm pretty sure I need to sing my heart out to it once more. (Note: the tape has to have Jealousy & Who Is He Kissing...they were my favorites)

Once Upon A Time. Before the season ended. So good! This is why it's best to wait for a series to end then you can watch it all as fast or slow as you want on Netflix. I hate waiting for the next season!!

Americas Next Top Model. Here's the thing, I don't think I'm a supermodel, but every time I watch the show I sooo think I could take the pics so awesome and win every season!! I could also be a super awesome judge. The end.

The next series I have plans to look into are The X-files and My So Called Life. If you have any other suggestions let me know!

Ps- Netflix and DVR are the best inventions ever!
I don't like planning my life around TV shows and I like to be doing stuff during daylight hours so I missed out on lots of good viewing over the years. Now I get to relax late at night to whatever show I want to watch!!

It really is a modern day miracle.

(PS- I really did take that pic during one of my alone-TV-watching-a-thons and I may look a little tense because I was watching Ghost Whisperer and scary things were afoot!)

some things i've learned

My whole one year of married life has taught me a couple things about myself, and here I thought at 33 I pretty much knew ALL about me! I guess there's always something new to discover.

1. I talk in my sleep sometimes. Which is super cool!! I hope I only say awesome things like:
"Aim for the head!"
"I know you can be overwhelmed, and you can be underwhelmed, but can you ever just be whelmed?"
"They may take our lives, but they'll never take our freedom!"
or maybe
"You remind me of the babe"

(I guess all super cool things said are said in movies...)

2. Apparently I don't know how to close things. Doors, drawers, cupboards, ect.
I never knew this was a problem until I got married and the hubs pointed it out to me. I blame my "raccoon-itis" (which is totally a legit medical term for getting distracted by shiny objects). I mean something must catch my eye if I'm just walking away from an open cupboard right!?!? You would think an overly organized girl who likes everything in it's place wouldn't have this issue.
(This may or may not be an exaggeration)

Ps- I'm going to Portland this weekend for my bff's wedding!! Check back next week for some (hopefully) awesome pics (I'm still trying to figure out how to work our Cannon). Also, you can follow some of the happenings on Instagram.

ghost symptoms

Word on the street is we have stopped trying to hinder creating a baby.
This is.....TRUE!
I know super exciting!!!
I'm sure you're not supposed to tell people this stuff,
but I have troubles in the secret department.
It's only been 2 months now,
and my body keeps tricking me into thinking I'm preggo!
It's ghost symptoms!
I swear I've been getting nauseous, tired, and fat.
OK, maybe not fat, but the other ones for sure!
I know it's just my mind being super excited
or the prenatal vitamins I've started taking.
It makes me wonder what kind of a head case I'll be when it actually happens!?!
At least then I'll have something to blame my weirdness on.

The Smiths

I don't know how many of you know this, but I just love Will Smith!
He makes me happy.
Like super happy!
He really just gets me with his humor,
and I can't help but smile every time I see a pic of him.

(look at this goofy grin and tell me that he doesn't light you up?!)
Not to rub it in your faces, but I've seen all his movies and every episode of Fresh Prince.
I even still have my tape of the Fresh Prince & DJ Jazzy Jeff from the old days!
"Summer, summer, summer time!"

So obviously being that into Will automatically makes me into his super cute little family!
(I follow them all on FB & I'm sure that's not creepy or stalkerish of me at all)

Just look how posh they all are!

Plus his kids are seriously adorbs!!
How could they not be though, Jaden & Willow are clones of Will.

I bet they have so much fun with Will as their dad.
He probably makes them laugh all the time!

Mrs. Smith is also amazing!!

One of the cutest couples ever!
(Note: Scott and I are number one)
Jada is doing this new Red Table Talks with her mom and Willow, and it really shows how awesome of a human being she is.
You should watch it.
I promise she will only intimidate you a little bit.

On another note, Will totally reminds me of my brother Jon.
So obviously if we ever met he would think of me as a little sister and we would be pals.
The End

Resolute Goals

I've realized I haven't made a resolution list in years!
I love goals...especially when I'm crossing them off.
Here are some items I want to work on this year:

1. Only concern myself with good friends who put an effort into returning my friendship.
2. Finish decorating the library/study/craft room.
3. Figure out my sewing machine and get to crafting!
4. Go to Thailand in March!
(this is #44 on my lifes list of 101 things to do)
5. Get  my bum back in shape and lose the 6lbs I've gained since being married and the 4lbs I gained planning the wedding...and then maybe throw in 5 more for good measure (and if that could all happen before Thailand it would be much appreciated).

we're alive

Recently I discovered this pod cast called We're Alive.
Yes it's about zombies,
and yes it's giving me some anxiety.
At first I was critical of the acting,
but now I'm hooked!!
I can't stop listening to it,
and I'm really worried about their survival!
It kind of reminds me of The Walking Dead comics and TV series.
(The new season starts this fall! Can't wait!)
Everyone knows that zombies are my favorite.
They completely freak me out, but I just feel like in those scary movies I could handle the monsters and be one of the few survivors.
I was on a big zombie kick a year ago, but had to cool it because it was making me a little high strung.
I was planning exit strategies for every building or parking garage I went into.
I was always looking around to see what items could be used as weapons.
If I went out at night I would be scanning the streets looking for biters and freaking myself out!
Plus I was constantly worried about Scott & mine plan if there was an attack.
So yup...it's kinda started again.
I can't not watch a movie or read a book without putting myself into it and thinking what I would do.
So of course I've put myself into this podcast and the seemingly no win situations they get themselves into.
I couldn't go to sleep last night because my mind was racing with zombie images and plans of escape.
It's a problem, I know.
At least if the time ever comes I'll be prepared...I hope

country girl

I'm not sure many people know this about me,
but I'm kind of a

country girl.

(me & Jen on top of Angels Landing in Zion.
Proof I'm country because I wear a cowboy hat??
Probably not, but I do own 3 of em...and cowboy boots.)

I don't know if it's because I'm from
the wide open spaces of Montana,
that I'm a romantic,
that my parents listen to it,
or some other factor.

But whenever I need to unwind,
I'm having a hard time,
or I'm feeling extra lovey,
it's country music I turn on.

I feel like it re-centers me,
makes time go slower,
makes the world seem more innocent
and simple.

In fact it makes life feel small town,
like my home town of
Kalispell Montana
and the summers I spent at our place in
Salmon Idaho.
I love that feeling.

**I should put a disclaimer that not all country music is awesome and makes me feel this way. Just like not all Radiohead makes me want to make out...unless it's In Rainbows, that album totally makes me want to make out!

writing it all down

I love my journal! I wouldn't say I'm the best at keeping up on it and writing everything down, but I try. I'm not an everyday writer, or even an every week writer, but I do try to write in it at least once or twice a month, plus all my fun collages and pictures I paste in! I feel like when my kids, or even when I myself will read back on whats in it, I don't want it to be about the mundane everyday stuff. I want to read about my favorite events or what my most trying situations were. That's why I don't feel the need for everyday writing, I'm sure my future generations will have A.D.D. like me and just want the highlights. :-) Here are some examples of how I journal:(Life's bucket list)

(Church notes)

(Events with my thoughts)

(Poems I write and puffy paint)

(Quotes)
**Note I do write real journal entries, I'm just not going to post pictures of that so you can enlarge and read my deepest secrets!! Also, I pretty much use puffy paint or colorful gel pens on every page...It's my favorite!!

Anyway, I just got a new journal this last week and every time I walk by it in my room I'm so excited to start writing in it! I think that's key when you go journal shopping. You need to find one that inspires you and makes you want to use it. I think it's interesting how every time I get a new journal it coincides with me starting a new chapter in my life. This last journal I just finished began with me preparing and going through the Temple for my first time. This journal will begin with me preparing and marrying my love Scott. I find the best journals are skcetch books, cause I hate lined paper for journals, I don't like to be confined by lines.
I also already have future journals waiting to be used. This one below I got from one of my best friends Alex for Christmas. I was going to use it for myself, but I think it will be the perfect journal for my future little boy. I want to start a journal for each of my kids until they can write in it themselves. I will write about the cute things they do, paste in their art work, and express over and over how much I love them. I absolutely loved when my mum would read me her journal entries about me. It made me feel special.

PS- Does anyone know how to print blog posts? I may want to add some to my journal sometimes.

Purple-itis

Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks and I've come to the conclusion that this year I'm most grateful for the color purple cause it's my favorite. Forget freedom and loved ones, I've got a pretty color! It's a great feat to come to a favorite color conclusion after all. I've wavered over the years on this decision (cause I felt like I was being too girlie by loving purple), but I always come back to it and it's still awesome and I don't care if it's girlie cause it's a hot color! Here are a few of my favorite things that are a touch cooler than normal cause their purple:

Eyeshadow

Snow boots

Jazz Jersey

Tights/Leggings

Polish

Clothes

Converse shoes

Purple goes with everything!! It's really the most versatile and glorious of colors.
