fallish

Every year I make Scott take me up the mountains so that I can see Fall in all it's glory! It's really one of my favorite things to do! I get to drink hot coco, chillax with the ginger, and listen to great music (it was The Decemberists and Puscifer this time). This is how red beard feels when I tell him to get in a pic:

(he's an angry elf!)

Seriously though, just look at all this beautifullness!!

I was being Pocahontas

I love when other nice fall connoisseurs offer to take a pic for you.

Some outtakes for you to enjoy:

....I don't know why I'm holding my boob in the top right. I think I saw a bug and it was my natural reaction. Also, it's a good thing we went up last weekend because it snowed up in them there mountains today! Which means we had rain here in the valley that I could have used some galoshes for. I super hope I get those yellow wellingtons I requested for my birthday that is happening in 1 week!!!

hollywoodland

I had to go to LA for work this week (blah), so in my spare time I took in some of the sites around town. First thing I need to say is the traffic is balls! I can't believe how terribly long it takes to get anywhere! On the upside I ate tasty tasty food and saw some cool sites. I only had my iPhone with me, so some of the pics aren't the best quality. Look, I made some collages for your viewing pleasure though!

Some yummy food that was consumed

Visiting the Santa Monica Pier

Look Will Smith's hands!! Plus some other cool stars I found
Madam Tussards Wax Museum!!! Just feast your eyes on this awesomeness!!
View from the Planetarium in the Hollywood Hills

A magnet I found that sums it up

(I totally do that, so maybe I'm more Hollywood than I think)

Also, I'm pretty sure that 90% of men in LA are gay. They are just too pretty! Even the ones I thought were straight told me they "loved my whole get up", so they must have been gay as well. I guess it's a good thing I'm not a single girl living there looking for pretty man. Good luck women of LA!

you say it's my birthday

It's that special time of year again where everyone celebrates the awesomeness that is me! Well in 3 week they will. Since I'm such a magnanimous person I like to make it easy on my loved ones and give them a list of items I super want. I'm just helpful like that! Remember October 3rd is the big day, so if you need to order on-line you can go ahead and do that now (this means you Scott, no more getting my presents after the big day because you didn't order until the day before).

This won't work on the new iPhone. Hold until new lens comes out. 1. IPhone lens. I want the one that does fish eye and a zoom
**I'm getting the new iPhone soon, so it will need to fit that.

Received! 2. Tripod for my Cannon 60D. This is so Scott doesn't have to make faces at me when I want pictures of my cute outfits. Plus I have plans to make a dance video & I want to take pics of Scott and I on special occasions.

Received! 3. Hunter Wellingtons in vintage yellow. My old rain boots leak and I just NEED these!! Size 9. Seriously people. If I ever get to Scotland or Ireland these boots will be essential! Not to mention I will need them for the fall and spring here in Salt Lake.
4. Twig Branch Bobbie Pins in gold. Since I can't stand my hair in my face and I like these.

5. Echo Touch Gloves with bow in light olive green. These winters are long and I need to keep my fingers warm whilst taking pics on the iPhone.

Received! 6. This moose sweater or something like it. Reminds me of Montana for some reason, so therefore I need it.

Received! 7. Nerd Do Well by Simon Pegg. I've been wanting to read this book because of my love for Simon! I kind of want the audio as well cause he reads it himself! Audio books read by the author are the best!

8. Dumbo. I've had the Baby Mine song on my mind since Joseph Gordon Leavitt sang it at Sundance and I think I just need the movie. Who doesn't love a circus and flying elephants!?!
9. The Killers new album Battle Born!

10. Jem and the Holograms tape that has Jealousy and Who Is He Kissing. I'm serious about this. If you find this I will love you forever!

You're Welcome for making it easy on you!
Love,
The Birthday Girl

mi casa

As you know from my previous blog entry here, that moving into a bachelor pad was not the most fun for me. It took a lot to get it organized and up to my anal standards of organization, cleanliness, and cuteness. There's still things I want to change or update, but I'm pretty happy with how it's coming along.

To start this is just a reminder of what it looked like before:
What I've done with the place:

So I learned after I hung the curtains that they should go all the way to the ceiling. There's no way Scott will put more holes in the wall, so I will have to wait until our next home to do that rule.

This is actually a Christmas ornament, but I love it so much I just keep it in the window all year long.
Joseph Smith art by Matsby, who has a hilarious blog!
I made this banner myself!!
These are all Scotts. The Ginger has a musical gift! I need to think of a better way to display them though. It's too cluttery for my liking right now.
My grandmothers chair that I absolutely love! (side note, I made that pillow)
My pops gave us 2 of the old cameras below for a wedding present. Love them!!
Our fish Poo
Albert
Why Scott needs 3 game controllers is beyond me?!?
View from the other direction
I'm going to change up this photo wall here soon too. I want to add more photos to it of our travels and loved ones. Plus, it might be weird, but I hate having so many wedding photos up.
"Luke, I am your father!"
You never know when a Darth mask will come in handy.
We keep our DVD's in this.
A pic of Scott's daughter that his mom drew.
Also our front closet that I'm pretty proud of:

There is still more to be done with the office, master bedroom, master bath, and I have grand ideas for the rec room downstairs! I can't imagine we'll ever be done!

our first anniversary

As I was going through our summer photos and organizing them, I came across our 1 year anniversary photos from June. Since we had just gone to Thailand in March we decided to stay local at a bed & breakfast in town. I super love B&B's! Someday I will get to a B&B in the NorthEast and eat lobster, visit lighthouses, and look into their local ghost/witch history. You know all those old New England towns got em! Anyway, this was our day:

The Inn on the Hill
The view night and day
 first anniversary= paper gift
Scott gave me Alice in Wonderland from 1934 and Rubaiyat of Omar Kyayyam from 1909, which is a Persian poem about life, living in the moment, love, death, and god.
"Here with a Loaf of Bread beneath the Bough,
A Flask of Wine, a Book of Verse - and Thou
Beside me singing in the Wilderness -
And Wilderness is Paradise enow."
Sometimes the Ginger really surprises me with how romantic he can be.
I gave Scott the complete scores of every Beatles song so that he can play them on the piano, guitar, drums, or whatever he wants. The Beatles are one of his all time favorite band!
The day was a perfect mixture of chilling, food, and togetherness. After we opened our presents we ate a tasty bacon filled breakfast on a patio overlooking the city, played some pool, went to a matinee, ate snow cones, did a little bit of antiquing, took a nap, then ate year old wedding cake. Which was super yummy! I'd say that was a successful day....especially food wise...which my life may or may not focus too much around.

In conclusion, wedding anniversaries are so much more fun than dating anniversaries! Seriously kids. I'm super excited to plan something fun and different every year! Especially with the presents. Next year is cotton so I need to come up with something Scott/nerdy/cool. If anyone has any different ideas let me know! (don't worry the hubs doesn't read my blog cause he's terrible like that, so anything you say is safe)
