baking = wifey

It may just be me,
but when I'm baking I feel like I should be listening to Christmas music.
It's just baking is so cozy
and feels so happy and family oriented to me.
So therefore the happiest music should be playing when I bake!
I baked these cookies yesterday
listening to Neil Diamond Christmas and my Polar Express Soundtrack.
It was a lovely fun evening!!
These are the first I made in my new home for my cute husband.
(he did have to help me find a recipe...he's the baker, but I do try)
I hope to start baking more and creating extravagantly glorious treats!
(I have high aspirations)

(this cake stand was my grandmothers and I love displaying treats on it!)
Nothing makes a house more homey than the smell of baked goods!
I feel so wifey!!

Iron Chef Ginger

My incredibly talented husband is a chef extraordinaire!
He is constantly coming up with new ideas for yummy dinners,
and yummier desserts!

Here was our meal last night:Hamburger patties infused with bacon and blue cheese with asparagus!
Sooooo tasty!
He made creme brulee after dinner as well!
Sorry I didn't get a picture of that,
I kinda fell asleep early without dessert.

Thyme & Seasons

Going to chain restaurants is one of my least favorite things to do. Of course I do it once in awhile, but I don't see the purpose of going to chain restaurant when you live in a city that offers so much more! I love the out of the way places that are cute and quaint; especially if the food is super yummy! Recently I discovered a new restaurant up in North Salt Lake. Actually it's a restaurant, kitchen store, & art gallery called Thyme & Seasons. The thing that really makes this place awesome though is Chef Hai! I've never been to a place that the chef will actually come out to your table and find out what you like, go back and make it himself (which there is a window to the kitchen so you can watch him work if you want), then have him serve it to you. This man definitely has charisma and he makes such tasty food! I went there 3 times within a week and left feeling super satisfied every time! He promised he wouldn't make me fat by eating there so much though...I like those kind of promises :-)

I forgot to take pictures of my Philly Cheese Steak and cheese cake that I ate. Both super tasty!!
