we're alive

Recently I discovered this pod cast called We're Alive.
Yes it's about zombies,
and yes it's giving me some anxiety.
At first I was critical of the acting,
but now I'm hooked!!
I can't stop listening to it,
and I'm really worried about their survival!
It kind of reminds me of The Walking Dead comics and TV series.
(The new season starts this fall! Can't wait!)
Everyone knows that zombies are my favorite.
They completely freak me out, but I just feel like in those scary movies I could handle the monsters and be one of the few survivors.
I was on a big zombie kick a year ago, but had to cool it because it was making me a little high strung.
I was planning exit strategies for every building or parking garage I went into.
I was always looking around to see what items could be used as weapons.
If I went out at night I would be scanning the streets looking for biters and freaking myself out!
Plus I was constantly worried about Scott & mine plan if there was an attack.
So yup...it's kinda started again.
I can't not watch a movie or read a book without putting myself into it and thinking what I would do.
So of course I've put myself into this podcast and the seemingly no win situations they get themselves into.
I couldn't go to sleep last night because my mind was racing with zombie images and plans of escape.
It's a problem, I know.
At least if the time ever comes I'll be prepared...I hope

DVR

Scott recently taught me about the all mighty DVR!
I've never had one before and it's amazing!!
I'm sure he is now regretting showing it to me because I've recorded amazing shows like:
America's Next Top Model
So You Think You Can Dance
and I have every intention of recording all the Lifetime and Hallmark Channel Christmas movies!
Technology is amazing!

one room done!

I got one room completed in our house!
Granted it's the smallest room,
(our main level bathroom)
but having even that done makes me feel so accomplished!
Our guest will at least have one room to sit in that's done up! :-)
(though I still may change or add items)
I can't wait to get the rest of the house looking presentable!

Iron Chef Ginger

My incredibly talented husband is a chef extraordinaire!
He is constantly coming up with new ideas for yummy dinners,
and yummier desserts!

Here was our meal last night:Hamburger patties infused with bacon and blue cheese with asparagus!
Sooooo tasty!
He made creme brulee after dinner as well!
Sorry I didn't get a picture of that,
I kinda fell asleep early without dessert.

chuck norris round house kick to the head!

Sunday: Scott and I got our car broken into!
Which sucks in itself,
but double suck because my purse was in the car with over $500 in cash and gift cards we got as wedding gifts.
I was going to the bank the next day to deposit the cash so it was in my wallet. Plus my sparklers were in the backseat and I was going to save them for my birthday!
Let me just tell you how I feel:
Aaaggghhhhh!!!
Grrrrrrrr!!!!!
I want to cut a stupid crack head!
I'm so angry,
and sad,
and violated!
I don't understand how people can do this!
Here is what I want to do to these thieves:I really need to listen to my instincts more.
I first had a feeling to leave my purse in the house. I even turned around to leave it,
but the front door was locked and I didn't have my keys on me.
(I guess Scott being 10 feet away was too far)
Next I got out of the car and forgot my purse. I had the feeling to grab it.
I went to open the car door and Scott had just locked it, so I left it.
It would have taken 2 seconds to yell to Scott to unlock the door, but I didn't.
Always, always, always follow your instincts!

Tuesday: I found my purse in the dumpster by the crime scene!!
I had a feeling to check where I've already checked twice before, and I am not ignoring my gut feeling anymore after the theft.
There was my purse just sitting on top!
Granted it was totally ransacked and smelly, but I have peace now knowing that I found it.
Things they took: Of course all the money and gift cards,
my ID and insurance card,
some prescription medicine,
my MAC makeup and peacock compact,
sunglasses and other small items.
I got back my sparklers though! Wooohooo!
Also, my temple recommend card,
and all the hour off parking passes I've been saving up for the Gateway!

I'm still angry and ticked that they got so much from me,
but I've learned to not ignore those small promptings, gut feelings, holy ghost, all of the above.
Maybe that's what God was trying to teach me.
