my future favorite room

When I was young girl to pass the time in church I used to draw house plans and design how the furniture would be laid out in every room. The most important room and the one all the plans would be laid around was always the library. Ever since I can remember I've always wanted a home with a library! A whole room dedicated to books!

My home will have that castle turret which is where the library will be located
with a cozy fireplace and tons of windows
a ladder to get to all the glorious books that are stacked to the ceiling
and a spiral staircase to get to the second level that is full of more books and open to the floor
below
a cozy window seat is a must

and chaise loungeSeriously it doesn't get much better than that!

Tattoo

I'm sure most of you have heard me mention it one time or another, but I've always wanted to get a tattoo! Scott thinks sleeves on girls are sexy, so I know he would be cool with it. I even have it all planned out. I only want the sleeve from my shoulder to my elbow with stars and a peacock. Kinda like these images, but somehow intertwined with bold colors (especially purple)! It would be so sexy awesome!! The sad thing is I realize I can never have this being a member of the LDS church and the rule of treating my body like a temple, which I agree with for the most part. I've even thought about the repercussions of having it as a mom or grandma cause it could look pretty saggy when I'm old and I wouldn't be setting a good example for the kiddies, but seriously what a bad A mom/grandma I would be with my super awesome tats! I know all the reasons why I shouldn't, but I also just can't help but want it! Plus with it only to my elbow I could wear a small sweater if I need to cover it at any time. Now if only I could get the church to pass off on this! I always kick myself for not getting one when I wasn't an active member of the church cause then I could have chalked it up to my wild days, but alas, I didn't want to disappoint my father back then and get one. So for now, every once in awhile I look up the artwork and plan it out for the day that maybe it will be possible for me to get one.

Dear Santa, I've been a very good girl this year. I even listened to Christmas music throughout the year in honor of your festive holiday and the warm tinglies it brings. Singin with a stolen set of pipes!

Sometimes I like to pretend I can sing. I've always wished I could just pick up a guitar and sing some awesome song and amaze everyone. I would make the boys love me and the girls wish they could be as cool as me! That's probably why God didn't bless me with this gift though, he knew I wouldn't use my power for good, but for world domination. It's why I never learned guitar either, why learn to play an awesome song if I can't be the one in the spotlight singing it!? I guess I could always learn pitch and notes...but really, either you got it or you don't, and I couldn't hit a high note to save my life! So I settle for putting on my Ipod and pretending that the voice coming through the speakers is me and everyone loves me! My favorite pretend rock star voice is always Pink. If only God would have given me the choice I would have stolen her voice! I love how raw and gritty and amazing her voice is! I don't want a girly girl voice that's just pretty, I want soul and angst! Which is why when Pink comes on the radio I will never change the station....she has what should have been mine! There are a few exceptions when I go for pretty though, one is Faith Hill. Where Are You Christmas is totally my song! Sometimes I like to pretend I'm at a ward talent show singing this and I surprise everyone with this tremendous voice that I've kept a secret. It ends with everyone envying me and world domination. Hey if you're gonna dream, dream big right!?

Ps- If you can name what movie the title is from then you're awesome and we can be friends.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Sooooo my birthday is coming up on October 3rd! Like you guys didn't already know! :-) I've decided this year I'm going to take a page from Madbeard and post my birthday wish list. No it won't be in a cool video format like his cause I'm not tech friendly with cool computer gadgets. So it's just a wish list with some links. Now don't feel obligated to get me anything...but if you want to I won't fight it.

Things I like:

1. DVDs (can be new or used):

A Christmas Carol
Emma

4. Peacocks:
Peacock book ends
Necklace
Peacock feathers (you can find these at craft stores)
Really I'll take anything peacock...or elephant for that matter.

5. Clothes: (I wear a medium in women's, small in men's, large in teeny bop)
David Bowie Tee
Star Trek Shirt in Red
Sometimes I Worry About Zombies Tee
Fuzzy earmuffs & fingerless mittens...preferably in gray

6. Misc:
I-phone hard case. Mine is wearing out cause I drop my phone so much.

I realize this list is ginormous! Who's wish list isn't? I just wanted to make sure people had options and are aware of my desires. Also, you can find most these items on Amazon.

Please note: If you get me a gift not on the list I will still accept it.

School is cool!

With everyone starting school this week it's making me a little bit jealous. The weather has chilled up a little bit making the mornings perfect fall nippiness. I think my true calling in life was to be a history teacher or a librarian at a high school. Sometimes I debate going back to school to do this, but then the thought of paying all that money to make the same amount I make now doesn't seem like the logical thing to do. I do so love the atmosphere though! The smell of cleaning products and books in the halls; the excitement of starting each year fresh; the brand new school supplies just begging to be used; the new school clothes; the school spirit! I just love everything about school! I really, really look forward to the day that I have kids and I can volunteer and be involved at their schools. I can't wait to bask in it's awesomeness once again.
