Phi Phi is not poo poo

If Phi Phi would have been the only place we visited on our Thailand trip I think I still would have been happy.

The beaches, the water, the mountains, the monkeys, the relaxing...I cannot express enough how glorious it all was!

Side note: When you get off the ferry pick out a hotel fast or the one you want will be sold out...or book it in advance. That's the one thing we didn't do on this trip that I would do next time. Too much stress booking on arrival.

I recommend doing this...after a pedicure you paid only $5 dollars for

Looks like I have a mohawk here! Awesome! 
The scuba diving was legit! We saw a ton of fish life, turtles, and an octopus! It changed colors as it moved! I had no idea they did that. 

The water was nice and warm and clear. You could see fish swimming around your feets as you stood there.

 The highlight of my trip! Holding this sweet little monkey!!!

The partying on the beach was nuts! Fire throwers & fireworks everywhere!

I'm glad our hotel was on the other end of the beach so that we had quiet time when we were done with this crazy scene.

Monkey Beach was the best! Sand like baby powder!

Truly paradise!
I can't wait to go back and check out the other islands!

**I realize I have my mouth open in a lot of pics and I will work on not doing that so much. It just goes to show how exciting this vaca really was!

Chang Mai Thai

Chang Mai is legit!

There's lots of foliage, there's animals, and the best night market!!
Not a lot of time is needed up in Northern Thailand,
but it was still worth the fun overnight train ride we took.

(note: riding on elephants is not the smoothest ride out there and their poo's are huge!)

The Hotel
The Rainforest Boutique was the nicest hotel we stayed in on our trip, yet it was no more expensive then all the others (like $30 a night). Score!!

The only thing that sucked was the Monkey School. DO NOT go there!! It is seriously a monkey concentration camp. Plus I had 2 of their crazy monkeys grab onto my pants from their cage and bite holes in my brand new Thai poo pants (seen wearing above with the elephants)!! 

Just Terrible! 

(This monkey was going to bite Scott's face off..but it was chained up like all the other sad little guys)

 Other than the rabid monkeys I LOVED Chang Mai and wish I had spent 1 more day there.

Rockin Ruthie

I came across this amazing little singer earlier this week from a blog I stalk.

 Her name is Ruthie and she does a ton of awesome covers.

I have a thing for covers.

 I've seriously been addicted and listening to all her videos she has up on YouTube!

I really like this cover of a Vampire Weekend song,

and this Cat Power song,

and this Johnny Cash,

oh and this Beatles song.

Pretty much just go and listen to all her songs.

She has 74 of them up on You Tube.

I want her to send me a CD.

Ode to Cambodia

Cambodia was legendary!

The Wats (temples) were super cool and ancient.

They looked as though you just wandered in from the jungle and found these amazingly very detailed ruins that no one else has touched in thousands of years!

(well besides all the other tourists walking around)
Speaking of tourist, we had the best guide/taxi driver!
Chou Sophal
He was the bomb-dot-com and super took care of us!!

Ankor Wat
This was the biggest and most kept of the temples.

It's huge with details etched on every surface!

There are mile long walls on every side telling stories, 

monkeys trying to steal whatever you were carrying,

posers,

and look real monks!

Bayon Temple (or as I call it the face temple)
Every tower had a face pointing North, East, South, & West.
There are 216 faces on the temple!

Ta Prohm aka The Jungle Temple
Or some of you may know it as Lara Croft Tomb Raider Temple!
The trees here will grow on anything! Rocks, other trees, your face.

 

(this is actually frowned upon...so don't hang on roots when you go. It is still a temple after all!)

Banteay Srei
This temple is built out of red sandstone and looks orangery awesome!
They think women did all the carvings because of how delicate it is, but it seems more manly to me cause of how big the boobies on the carvings are.
 Also, it has black streaks on it because they have to burn off the poisonous weeds that grow all over it.
No touchie!!
