the honeymooners

I keep thinking about our honeymoon
and how much fun I have vacationing with my ginger.
In my opinion for the first year of newlywed bliss
couples should go on honeymoons every month!!
(Actually that's a great idea! I think I will try to work in mini-moons every month for Scott and I)
Scott and I went to Grand Cayman on our honeymoon in June
and it was awesome!!
We snorkeled in perfect crystal clear warm water,
scuba dived with mermaids,
went on catamaran cruises,
played with sting rays,
discovered pirate caves,
went to Hell,
and mostly just chillaxed!
I loved having my Ginger all to myself for a whole week and doing whatever we felt like!
(though I'm still of the opinion that friends should come on honeymoons)

Green River Goodness

I love beautiful scenery,
I love easy hikes that go somewhere cool,
I love nature!

Last weekend we went down to Green River in Southern Utah to run the river with some friends, alas the road was washed out so we had to content ourselves with just swimming in the muddy river and doing a little hiking.
It was so fun to get out with some friends after working on the house so much.

busy bee

I can't believe it's been a whole month since I've posted anything! What with the wedding, honeymoon, family outings, & trying to get our home together in order I haven't had any down time! Every day I come home from work Scott and I are working on the house. It has been a major chore to clean the bachelor pad out and organize it all to be married couple worthy (note: I miss hanging out with my friends all the time). Half the stuff in the house isn't even Scott's! I've made a big pile of items that are going to the D.I. and that the Steele clan need to come take away. I've never had a whole house to decorate and organize before and it's a bit overwhelming at times. The town home is 1900 sq feet! We have 3 bedrooms & 2 baths on the top level; family room, dining room, kitchen & half bath on the main level; storage room, laundry, bathroom, & big rec room on the bottom level. Here are some samples of what we've been busy doing, the final product will hopefully be coming soon! You just get pics of the living room for a teaser :-)

I don't know if the before pictures convey how cluttered the living room was. There was stuff in every corner that didn't need to be there just making a mess! I. DO. NOT. DO. CLUTTER! I'm not into knick knacks and I like things organized. I'm kind of anal that way. I love pictures and decorations that have meaning. Like the green chair in the corner. That was my grandmothers and I love it! There is also an 8MM camera on the DVD shelf of Scott's, which I love! I love things retro and fun. I will get close up pics of how it's decorated once I finish it. So excited for it to be done hopefully someday soon! If anyone has any tips I will gladly take them! I wish Nicole lived up here to give me decorating advice, she's an expert!
