that's a niner

I am loving 9 month old Oliver!
One word: Cuddles!
He gets shy - cuddles
He's flirting - cuddles
He's tired - cuddles
He's excited - cuddles
Seriously nothing is better than a baby squeezing the crap out of you and burying his face in your neck.
Oh my goodness just thinking about it makes me want to hold him!
He is so much fun and giggly and just so stinking cute!!

In the big boy cart at Home Depot

In his first big boy bath!

First Thanksgiving and first puke! I tried giving him a Thanksgiving meal of ham and gravy baby food. Apparently it's disgusting. If you want to see the event here is the video :-)

  Matchy, matchy!!

Ollie is really into exploring my face lately. AKA poking my eyes and sticking his hands in my mouth.

Doesn't he look like a happy Buddha? Haha!

I just love being this babies mama!

8 is great!!

The dude is an 8 month old and he still melts me every day!!
He gives the biggest smiles that make his eyes sparkle.
He loves when people make funny noises to him and will make his own noises back.
Says dada for everything!
Loves to squeeze mama and hold her head for minute long kisses.
Is hyperactive in the evenings. It's either all giggles, yells, and kicks or crying.
The funniest is that he will take his blankets, burp cloths, books or anything within his reach and cover his own face to play peek-a-boo. It really is the cutest and so funny!
Here are the cutest of the cute pics of the last month:

And here's a more tame video clip of him playing peek-a-boo (usually he's squealing and kicking his legs). Don't mind my constant "Where's the baby!". It's how we play the game :-)

this is Halloween

Oliver's first Halloween was a success!!
We had people over to our house so we could hand out candy to the million trick or treaters in our hood and so Ollie could go to bed, in his bed, at a decent time.
We also learned a valuable lesson: Don't put two babies to sleep in the same room because they will just keep waking each other up.
Oliver thought that having the boys over earlier to play with was fun, but apparently when it's bed time he doesn't want to hear them.
(and now we know and knowing is half the battle!)
Look how cute they all are together though!

Tigger (aka Asher) is 3 months older than Ollie and Batman (aka Jethro) is 3 months younger.
It's nice that we have friends with kiddos the same age so that Ollie has some playmates!

We only took Ollie to one house to trick or treat since he doesn't eat candy yet (obviously). It was probably silly of us to even take him to one house, but I've been looking forward to having kids for so long I wasn't going to pass up my chance to experience the magic of Halloween night and trick or treating with my little!! He felt the magic of the night too cause we let him chew on the package of candy for a bit. So yeah, it was exciting for all of us.

Originally Scott was supposed to be wearing a nice black suit so that we could be all dressed up with our masks on, but the evening got busy with us making dinner for our guests, then the chatting, then the million trick or treaters, then a photo session of Ollie in his costume, then Ollie with his boys, then the Halloween movies. So by the time we thought of taking our own family photos this is what we ended up with: Scott and I looking half done and Ollie fully costumed. Hopefully next year we will have it more together for a family costume.

What to be for next year now?!?

ps- Don't mind the terrible lighting in all the photos. Apparently we need to get some new bulbs.

candy crush

Yes, I'm this kind of parent, yes it can be tiring, but yes it's super awesome!
Note: no candy corns were harmed in the process

lucky number 7

Oliver is getting so big!!! We are closer to a 1 year old than we are to a new born. So weird!!
I must say he gets more and more fun everyday!
He gives his smiles to everyone he meets, though at times he gets shy and has to bury his face in my shoulder. He loves to giggle with excitement at all the new things he does and see, but nobody can get him laughing like his daddy! Scott seems to always get him rolling with baby tickles to his tummy.

I must say one of my favorite things is when I come home from work or go to get him up from a nap and he gives me the hugest smile and squeal because he's so excited to see me!
Nothing makes you feel more special than when your baby thinks you're number 1!
Something that doesn't make you feel special, when your baby refuses to hold your hand.
His dad is not a hand holder, but I didn't think that was something that could get passed down. Lame!
He's rejected many a people from this hand holding business though so don't take it personal if he does it to you.

One of my favorite moments from this last month was while Ollie was taking a bath and he tooted. The noise and bubbles got him so scared it was hilarious!! He jerked his whole body and covered his ears. Haha!

I just love this little guy and watching him learn about life.

Happy 7 months my big baby!

a lil' pumpkin in a patch

We took Oliver on his first outing to pick his own pumpkin!
Well, really we picked the pumpkins and he just giggled the whole time cause he was having a great adventure.
This little man loves his outings...as long as there isn't too many loud people.

Seriously how cute are those little curls on the top of his head?!?
I love this little pumpkin of mine!
