1. Zombieland: This could be number one because it's the newest...who knows?! It may be knocked down a few notches after I've seen it a few more times. I dig it so much because I feel that this movie is educational as well as entertainingly scary. Also, it doesn't scare me as much as other zombie movies. It is one that I could watch a lot without having to break out my night light...which I'm a fan of not being scared in my bed at night.

2. Shawn of the Dead: This movie started my love of zombie movies. It's legendary! Yes, it does scare me a bit...but in a funny sort of way...if that's possible. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are a mixture of awesomeness and atractivness, making this movie a classic must see multiple times a year!

3. 28 Days Later: This movie definitely has it's scary parts! Yes, I think people being infected with "rage" is ridiculous, but take that away and this could totally happen! I just know in some lab somewhere they are testing monkeys with some obscure virus and it's bound to get out!

4. Fido: This movie is about life after the zombie outbreak and having zombies as servants. I know I'm not the only that would love a zombie pet!

5. I Am Legend: This movie is freaky!! The zombies in this one are smarter than your average zombie, which I think that's why it freaks me out so much. The old classic zombie movies have them shuffling about, being slowdy powdies...creepy, but nothing I can't handle. When they start to get really fast and devious, then I have issues.

I realize that a lot of these movies on my list are funny ones. I'm going to let you in on a secret....I don't really like scary movies! In fact, I'm not as into zombies as everyone thinks I am. I just feel that zombies are the one part of scary movie world that I could actually handle if it were to happen in real life. Because what I think about when I watch scary movies is "What would I do in that situation?", which is why I get so scared in them. I gotta admit, that in most of the scary movies I see I would survive, because I'm totally a survivor!...and I would make Scott save me.

I agree with everything up to #5... what about Dead Snow, JaimePants?? That one is better than I Am Legend!!
ReplyDeleteI considered Dead Snow...but I HATE Nazi's! Plus I felt that I needed another scary, scary movie...not scary funny. I didn't want people to start thinking I was some kind of wuss.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I Am Legend was tied with Dawn of the Dead (2004)...those were scary fast zombies as well. But I chose Legend because it has my main man Will Smith in it :-)
ReplyDeleteI also agree with your picks 100%!! All of those make my top 5. Not necessarily in that order, but they're all there nonetheless. Well done! :)
ReplyDeleteI watched I Am Legend for the first time the other day. I thought it was fun, but I don't think it would be in my top 5. Maybe if the zombies weren't actually cartoon characters. I would like to see the new Dawn of the Dead.
ReplyDeleteI love I Am Legend! those zombies are freaky looking and I hate how they seem to have super strength and speed, ick! deadly combo! Zombieland is on my "to see" list!
ReplyDeleteDisapponted! That's all I can say. You call your self a Simon Pegg fan?
