Sundance 2013

We had another successful Sundance movie going experience again this year!
To see the goodness from the last two years go here and here.
Here's what went down this year:

This was an awesome documentary about the most dangerous mountain on earth, K2, and what happened when 11 climbers died on an expedition in 2008. Just to give you an idea of how crazy K2 is, 1 out of 4 climbers who try to peak that mountain die...yeah, not good odds!
Pemba Gyalje, a Sherpa from Nepal pictured below with my hubs, spent over 90 hours in the deathzone trying to save lives! It's called the deathzone for a reason...you do NOT want to be there for too long. He was so humble and nice!
The hubs has talked about climbing Everest for years, but after seeing this documentary I think I will have to squash that dream. I know it's a different mountain, but I could not handle having him in danger like this!

This film had a Hot Fuzz feel to me (which I guess this director is friends with Edgar Wright so I shouldn't be too surprised). I don't want to give anything away, but it's funny and dark and awesome.

Nothing but LOVE for this film!! Comic gold! I think the Q&A afterwards with all the funny cast was my favorite part. Plus we got to see Sam Rockwell at the film since his girlfriend Leslie Bibb was in it. Scott has a major man crush on that man and was trying to stalk him to take a pic....yeah he was being creepy.

The hubs was major fan boying! Haha!
Sam Rockwell!!

Meh. I couldn't wait for this film to end, which is not a good sign, but it did have an interesting take on a girls journey down to crazy town. The best part was one of my girl crushes, Emily Browning, was in the film. She's so pretty!!
Look who it is!! It's the boy from Sky High!! I had to get a pic with him cause I love that movie! Haha!
No, my huge grin isn't cheesy & starstruck at all.

This was a scary film and the last Sundance film I went to. What was cool about it is the director didn't give the cast the whole script so they were really being scared during the film! I think that's awesome!

Two thumbs up for Sundance this year!

  1. Anything with Paul Scheer is great. Glad you enjoyed this year's offerings, for the most part.

  2. I have to comment, because when I saw all of my favorite comedy actors are in Hell Baby, I got to say, Thank you for letting me know about this film. It has got to be amazing with that cast. And you got to meet all of them! Not sure if you watch The League on FX but I was be screaming "Carmenjello!! Carmenjello!!"

Also I usually read your blog in my reader, but now that I'm on it, Love the layout. Way to give it cute, character, spice yet incredibly easy to read and find things. Golf clap for Jaime!
